Spitalfields City Farm is one of my favourite places in London. I’ve lost count of how many friends I have dragged along to the farm.
Recently, I was due to meet an old friend from home for coffee. Being very hungover and in no mood to travel, I cheekily asked her if she’d like to meet me in Shoreditch and suggested we check out the farm.
It’s such a nice, relaxed place. It was originally set up by volunteers in the late 70s, and still takes on volunteers today.
I just find it really cool that in the middle of a big, bustling city, there’s this cute little farm.
The day I visited with my friend, the chickens were roaming freely about the yard. This little guy was curious enough to wander up to us, although he did peck my friend when she tried to take a selfie with him!
There’s also an adorably small goat; anyone that I bring to the farm immediately gets dragged to go see Tiny Goat.
The farm is open every day except Monday, from 10am to 4pm. It’s free to visit, and there’s a market there every Sunday. It’s one of the sweetest places I’ve been in London and I strongly recommend checking it out!
